I find making decisions about sentimental objects particularly difficult, so I was looking for someone with psychological insight and methodology beyond simply "organising". Arwen's professional qualifications as a social worker provided this, in addition to a personalised and gentle approach informed by best practice.

On top of being extremely knowledgeable, professional, focused and patient, Arwen is incredibly well-researched and resourceful! The depth and breadth of ways and means she has to help are beyond anything I could have imagined!

the results so far have been really positive, and I feel the weight slowly coming off my shoulders as well as out of my home!

Now I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, I look forward to our sessions as another step closer to freedom!

Hopeful, paddington

FAQ

  • A professional organiser is someone who is skilled in techniques to help people declutter and organise their homes and lives. After assisting many people to declutter and get organised I understand the overwhelm you can experience about your home and possessions. I can help you make decluttering decisions that you can feel confident about.

I provide on-site services and do hands-on decluttering and organising of your spaces with you. I coach you through the process providing education and support along the way. I can also help you manage routines, habits and to–do lists.

    • Help with the overwhelm. We help you know where to start, how to make it easier and provide encouragement to keep going.

    • You get to practice decluttering with a helpful guide to increase your confidence.

    • Make big gains in a shorter time.

    • Accountability to do the job. No more putting it off.

    • Keep you focused and manage distractions.

    • Understand the patterns that lead to clutter and disorganisation.

    • Remove donations on the day! YAY! Saves you the hassle of remembering to do it later.

    • Feel good about where your items are going; your donations go to charities where they are needed.

    • Get advice about waste and recycling to declutter sustainably.

    • Recommendations on products and storage options to save you time and money.

  • Not sure what type of help you need? This blog article will help you understand more about what may be causing the issues in your home and what type of assistance is best suited to your needs.

  • Many factors impact on how long it will take to achieve the goals:

How easy (or hard) you find it to let go of items.

How much clutter there is in the home.

How many areas of the home need decluttering and organising.

It is challenging to estimate how long it will take to complete. For example, clients may have one or two sessions; others have regular sessions for a few months. I work flexibly to your needs and budget.

  • I understand that sometimes, for health or other reasons, people may find a 3 hour session difficult. We can discuss your circumstances but generally we first will try 3 hours to see if you can do that, you might be surprised what you can handle.

Please be aware that if, for any reason, sessions are less than 3 hours, the hourly rate will slightly higher at $100 per hour.

  • On-site sessions are $95 per hour for a minimum of 3 hours.

If, for any reason, the session is less than 3 hours, the hourly rate is $100 per hour.

Please note that due to the on-site nature of services, a travel charge may apply and as such I require some information from you to give a specific estimate of costs. Get in touch to find out more.

*Please note NDIS services are currently at capacity.

  • Please note that Calm Space is generally not able to respond to urgent requests for assistance.

If I have capacity services can generally commence within a few weeks depending on session availability.

Sometimes, to provide a quality service to current clients, I close my books and am not able to accept new clients. In this instance you will be provided with a referral to other services.

  • I care about our environment and want to help you to be sustainable while decluttering. I have the knowledge to help you find responsible options for donating your items that are still in good condition. I provide guidance about recyclables and remove some hard-to-recycle items during sessions that cannot be put into the kerbside bins.

  • Not always. After decluttering you may find your existing storage options function much better. If your space would benefit from additional products, this will be discussed with you when you enquire. It may be recommend that products are supplied and implemented as a part of your session.

For projects requiring storage solutions, product costs are added to the hourly rate, plus a 20% surcharge (excluding GST) for planning and sourcing.

To achieve the desired result some projects will require an initial onsite consultation to allow for detailed measurements, planning and product selection suited to your specific needs. This will be discussed at your initial enquiry.

Products are not a replacement for intentional decluttering and your space will still need regular tidying and maintenance.

  • I provide services to people over the age of 16 only.

While I don’t work directly with children my aim is the support parents to help their children develop skills to manage their own spaces and possessions.
